How Consignment Works
(Full Process)

Who This Is For

This service is designed for people who want a professional, hands-off selling experience.

This is a good fit if you:

  • Inherited a collection

  • Are downsizing or clearing out space

  • Want to sell without dealing with listings, buyers, and shipping

  • Prefer a structured, transparent process

Selling collectibles properly takes time, research, and effort.
This service is built to handle that for you.

We consign:

  • Single items

  • Small groups

  • Large collections

As long as items qualify.

Who This Is NOT For

This is not a good fit if:

  • You expect top-dollar pricing on every item

  • You have mostly low-value items

  • You are not willing to follow a structured process

  • You are unwilling to sign required paperwork

For additional details on what qualifies, see sections;

What We Accept  (Includes What We Typically Pass On)

My time is limited and valuable.
This is a professional operation, and standards are enforced.

This is a straightforward, no-surprises process.

If this looks like a good fit, here’s how the consignment process works from start to finish:

Submit Items for Pre-Approval

Submit using the form on this website.

  • You do NOT need to upload every item

  • Group or bulk photos are fine

  • This step is for qualification, not full cataloging

You will:

  • Upload photos

  • Provide a basic description

  • Complete intake questions

Response Time:
Acknowledgment will be sent in a timely fashion.
Full approval or decline may take a few days depending on volume and schedule.

Approval & Drop-Off

If approved, we will schedule a drop-off in:

Independence, Iowa

  • Most consignments must be dropped off

  • Pickup is limited and not guaranteed

Drop-Off & Documentation

At drop-off:

  • Consignment agreement is signed

  • W-9 is completed

  • Items are verified

All accepted items are:

  • Photographed

  • Documented

  • Logged

Pricing Strategy

Pricing is based on real sold market data (primarily eBay).

  • Multiple comps are reviewed

  • Outliers are removed

  • Prices are set to sell—not sit

Selling Process

We handle:

  • Research

  • Pricing

  • Photos

  • Listings

  • Buyers

  • Shipping

Platforms:

  • eBay (primary)

  • Marketplace (select items)

Listing Strategy:

  • Almost all items are listed as Buy It Now

  • Auctions are rarely used

  • Auctions are typically reserved for liquidation scenarios

Advertising:

  • A 2.1% ad rate is applied to all items

  • This is required and used to increase visibility and sell-through speed

  • Included in net calculations

Fees & Commission

Payouts are based on net proceeds (after all fees).

Commission Tiers (Based on Net)

Commission tiers are calculated per item (or per lot if items are grouped and sold together), not based on the total value of your entire consignment.

  • Under $50 → 60 / 40

  • $50–$100 → 55 / 45

  • $100–$500 → 50 / 50

  • $500+ → 40 / 60

Alternate Option: Direct Purchase

In some cases, items may be purchased directly instead of consigned.

  • This is done at our discretion (not all items qualify)

  • Based on realistic resale value minus costs

  • Full transparency is provided

  • Comparable sales will be shown

Pricing Timeline

  • Prices may adjust after 2–3 months

  • Goal: sell within ~4 months

  • At 6 months, next step is chosen

 Payouts

  • Payouts are issued monthly

  • Sales are paid the following month after sale

You receive:

  • Itemized breakdown

  • Sale price

  • Fees

  • Net

  • Final payout

Taxes

  • W-9 required

  • 1099 issued if thresholds are met

After 6 Months

If items remain unsold:

  • Continue listing

  • Return items

  • Bulk buyout

  • Liquidation

Unclaimed items after the agreed period may be considered forfeited.
